The Center for Latino Farmers will conduct workshops for those interested in organic farming on Dec. 3 and Dec. 9.

The Dec. 3 workshop will deal with organic farming certification and will cover the certification process from conventional to organic, and other topics, and will be held at the KDNA Radio station from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Presenter for this workshop will be Miles McEvoy, Organic Food Program Manager for the Washington State Department of Agriculture.

The Dec. 9 workshop will deal with establishing a cooperative for beginning or established farmers in the Yakima Valley.

Farmers seeking more information about how the co-op should be structured are welcome to attend.

The workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Washington State Migrant Council, 7871 W. Branch Rd., in Harrah.
