I have fond memories of spending weekends on my grand-father's farm out on Evan's Road where my dad's family grew up. My grandfather had forty acres where he raised a delicious variety of apples and milked cows. Little did I know I would again return to the valley.

My wife and I are presently spending a week of rest south of the border in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It was my wife’s wishes to purchase a couple of bibles, circle some scriptures and stuff a considerable sum of money in each of them and deliver into the unsuspecting hands of people (mothers) on the streets of a depressed neighborhood near to our hotel. We have done similar things before and quickly went to Wal-Mart (Los Cabos) to buy some bibles. After searching we asked a manger where to find them. He told us they do not sell bibles in stores in Mexico, at least not in Cabo. He said we would have to find a church that might sell them to us. This came as a complete surprise to us. We really take some things for granted in the United States of America.
"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD." Amos 8:11
Another Surprise came when we stopped to get gas for our rental car. We tried to use a credit card and were refused. We asked where we could get gas with our credit card and discovered there was only one brand of gasoline (Pemex) in Mexico that is government regulated and only accept cash. I guess it pays to do your homework. With the many countries I have personally traveled I am still amazed at how much we take for granted.
By the way, Cabo San Lucas is the land of speed bumps. On the Highway, side roads and everywhere. I guess they cost less than traffic signals.
