TOPPENISH – A rejuvenated local car club will play host to the city’s first annual car show June 6, at Pioneer Park, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Bill Collins, a member of the Iron Angels who handles their publicity, said the group had been reactivated in the last year, and had made the decision to host an annual show event.
He said the show is open to any pre-1974 vehicle, and first, second, and third place trophies will be given in a variety of classes.
Cars from each decade, from the 20s to the 70s will be judged as separate classes, and trophies will also be given for People’s Choice, biggest wheels, best paint and graphics, best pickup, best antique car, and other categories.
Collins also said more than 45 door prizes will be given away during the show.
The entry fee for the show is $10 for pre-registered cars and $15 the day of the show.
Pre-registration forms are available at the Toppenish Les Schwab location, or by contacting Epi at 865-4856, Dan at 865-2280, or Bill at 949-1418.
He said the trophies awarded at the show will be unique, and made from various engine parts.
About 25 cars have been pre-registered as of May 18, Collins said.
He said he will provide music and DJ services at the show with his own equipment.
