TOPPENISH — Three Yakima Valley graduating high school seniors each received a $1,000 scholarship, presented at the Toppenish Aerie on June 5.
Rachel Huylar, of Toppenish, received the Betty Green Memorial Scholarship, and will be attending Washington State University, where she will be majoring in Nursing.
She will graduate with a 4.0 grade-point average, and is tied for first in her graduating class.
Kyle Tynan, of Zillah, received the Chuck Steinhart Memorial Scholarship, and will attend Washington State University, majoring in electrical engineering.
Tynan is one of five Eagle Scouts to graduate in the Zillah High School Class of 2009, and maintained a 3.791 grade point average.
Carly Farmer, of Selah, received a Fraternal Order of the Eagles $1,000 scholarship, and is a member of the Selah High School Class of 2009, with a 3.7 grade point average.
She will attend the Yakima Valley Body Therapy Institute, in the school’s massage therapy program.
