GRANGER — Roaming grounds added one more to their herd, totaling 27 dinosaurs in Granger.
From cement mixers, to Granger’s youth, around 20 people in all joined together to build the dinosaur.
The Rattlesnake Hills Tourist Trail wrote, “Granger’s Dino-in-a-Day is an event the community created to let the public in on the dinosaur craze that has put this town on the map.”
The annual Dino-In-A-Day event was held Saturday, June 6th at Hisey Park. Gloves were provided for community members who participated in packing cement on the wire frame dinosaur.
This year’s dinosaur is an Apatosaurus. The dinosaur is more commonly known as a Brontosaurus, which means “thunder lizard.” The creature, in prehistoric times, measured 30 feet high and 75 feet long. It weighed approximately 66,000 pounds and the new addition to Granger is approximately half that size.”
