Daylight Savings Time officially ends at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1. Readers are reminded to turn their clocks back one hour on Saturday night after their Halloween festivities. Daylight Savings Time resumes on March 14, 2010.
Daylight Savings time was practiced in the early settler times, until it was repealed by the US government in 1919.  However many areas in the standard time zone continued to practice the time change. The practice of Daylight Savings Time was re-enacted by Congress in 1942 during World War II.
