Yakima County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the shooting death of a 55-year-old Wapato man.
According to Stu Graham of the Yakima County Sheriff’s office, a passing motorist discovered the body of Lenard Cohenour of Wapato in the early morning hours on Thursday, Nov. 19. Cohenour was found inside his car, which was parked at the intersection of Phillip John Road and Winaway Road near Wapato. The longtime Wapato resident lived near the intersection where the car was located.
Initial reports stated Cohenour had been shot once in the chest. An autopsy was conducted by the Yakima County Coroner’s office late last week. However, no additional information on the autopsy or the case has been released.
