Joseph P. Miller (73) of White Swan died at his home on Saturday January 2, 2010.
He was born in Wapato on April 26, 1936 to Morris Miller Sr. and Carrie Johnson, and was raised and educated in the valley and Seattle.
Joseph worked as a journeyman carpenter, and a fisherman all throughout the northwest.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita of White Swan; five sons, Dewey Miller of Auburn, Lowell Miller of Selah, Harold Miller of Toppenish, Brian "Walleye" Howell of White Swan and Andrew "Bear" Miller of Wapato; four daughters, Karen Miller-Marek, Jennifer Miller-Paul, Veronica Miller-Walluatum, and Pamela Miller all of White Swan; 98 grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Smartlowit of White Swan and Marcus Slome of Wapato; two sisters, Nancy Arquette of White Swan and Celia Buffalo of Toppenish; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dressing services will be at Colonial Funeral Home Monday, January 4, 2009. Overnight services were at the Toppenish Creek Longhouse with funeral services Tuesday, January 5, 2009 at sunrise at the longhouse with interment following at Methodist Cemetery in White Swan.
