Local police investigating New Year’s drive-by incident

Toppenish police are investigating a shooting on Alder Street that caused damage to a home and vehicle.
According to the police report, witnesses told police officers three subjects wearing dark clothing were walking in the 600 block of South Alder Street on Tuesday, Jan. 1 at 11:05 p.m. when neighbors heard three to five shots being fired.
The three subjects then fled the area on foot. Officers discovered a house and a car parked in a driveway were each struck once. Police stated they believe the case is gang-related.
