To The Editor:
In response to last week’s letter from Adrienne Wilson, I have a question for you the author: In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter which flag enters or leave the room first?
Do you think anyone besides yourself even notice at that school ceremony?
Somehow, I thin we see what we want to see, and if we start out with an already present slant, that’s where we end up.
Isn’t it enough that the school even had a ceremony like that?
The teachers and administrators do everything they can to make it right, but no, someone has to find the one thing that may have been misconstrued and then complain.
I am not sure where your philosophy about “there is no other flag but the US flag allowed in our country” has come from.
If it has been a Norwegian flag, for instance, would you have had a problem with that? In this valley, I find extreme lack of compassion or care for other cultures and yes, an abundance of prejudice.
I find it disturbing that the attitude of “only one flag, only one loyalty” is so present.
Our country is a mish-mash of many peoples and colors and ethnicities…and this is the 21st century.
Isn’t it about time we opened our minds and hearts to accept the fact that we are not a pure white/American valley and that we are better because of it?
When I read things like this, the word “Aryan” comes to mind.
I pray your loyalties expand your heart and softens to the possibilities that await.

In a Small town community I do agree we have several cultures and have become very diverse. But I just want to state and clarify that when the our country's flag is being lead off the floor by another country's flag does that not represent non-patriotism? And if it doesn't then why? In this day and age were we have become so politically correct we don't know when to put our foot down. My culture suffered a lost language and plenty of repression, and yes I am proud of our Nations flag. Let the others be heard on this and remember before you open your opinion on your keyboard take into consideration who you are assuming is writing these articles... thank you.

Sooooo.... the first thing you mention is "does it really matter which flag?" Absolutely amazing.... I bet your fellow Veteran would be glad to answer that question.... maybe even face to face just so you would fully understand the importance of what he fought for... just in case you forgot. Ahhhh.... ignorance is bliss...
