Larry Schoonover
I have fond memories of spending weekends on my grand-father's farm out on Evan's Road where my dad's family grew up. My grandfather had forty acres where he raised a delicious variety of apples and milked cows. Little did I know I would return to the valley to become Pastor of The Lighthouse Church in Wapato. After working at Noel Canning for fourteen years I went full time in the ministry starting in Sunnyside for two years and then to Puyallup for thirteen years. Great to be back in Yakima.

Larry Schoonover is a Christian Author, Conference Speaker and Bible Teacher of apostolic concepts and ministry. He serves as Senior Pastor of New Life Pentecostal Church of Puyallup, Washington and also of The Lighthouse Church of Wapato, WA.  His ministry has taken him across America and abroad to several Nations such as Singapore, China, Japan, England, Nicaragua, Ukraine, Jordan and Israel.

Life in Focus Education offers faith-based community services to people in need; regardless of language, status, or culture.  Through the efforts of a host of dedicated, trained men and women, an effective program of seminars, one-on-one teaching and support groups are helping to rebuild our community, one life at a time. Please review the program descriptions below for more information on each course.

This twelve-week curriculum based program provides a viable method for controlling anger on a long-term basis, providing the keys for neutralizing the destructive power of personal anger.  It has been very effective in combating the anger and destructive behavior exhibited by criminal defendants.  Effective counseling with the use of these materials can make a difference in domestic relationships.  It also makes a notable impact on those charged with domestic violence.

(Alcohol, Chemical Treatment Series) This community service program is a curriculum based, self help, and educational program. This twelve week course is designed to help the individual or family deal with the problems associated with alcohol and substance abuses. A.C.T.S. offers a structured environment with accountability. Each weekly lesson is comprised of:

  • Educational information about drugs and alcohol.
  • An object lesson that allows the participant to relate the lesson to his or her own personal situation.
  • A true-life story to which the object lesson applies.

Imagine a home with no screaming, no fighting, no tension.  This course gives you dozens of specific tools and techniques that will put you back in the driver's seat as a parent.  Put the brakes on ugly talk and disrespectful behavior.  With guidance from this ten-week course, help your child take responsiblity for his/her behavior and get back control of your home.
