Toppenish Parks and Recreation Director James Cole has provided an
update on the new playground equipment from the Seattle Seahawks, which
will be installed at Pioneer Park.
Cole said adult volunteers are needed to help set up the equipment, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 27 and 28.
The official grand opening of the playground will be held Oct. 7, at 11
a.m., and a number of dignitaries have been invited to attend, Cole
said.
Also present will be Seattle Sea Gals and some Seahawk team members.
Cole said Toppenish is the only community in the state that received
special NFL Play 60 playground equipment, which is valued at $55,000.
Volunteers are asked to bring screwdrivers and cordless drills, if possible, for setting up the equipment.
Any volunteers interested in helping are asked to contact Cole at his office at 865-5150.
